The wonders of Rome and Venice
Step into the iconic Caesars Palace and you'll step back in time to Ancient Rome. The Luxor is a shrine to everything Egyptian. The main focus is a 30-storey black glass pyramid. At the peak of its atrium (once the largest in the world) is a 40-billion candlepower beam which sends a shaft of light 10 miles into the sky - maybe not something Egyptian tomb-builders had in mind! To enter the pyramid you pass a 10-storey sphinx and hieroglyphic-etched obelisk while the interior is crammed with Egyptian-themed statues and structures, including a huge replica of the Great Temple of Ramses II. While the Luxor has been updated and streamlined in recent years with some of its Egyptian excesses removed, it still delivers an authentic taste of Ancient Egypt.

The mini-megalopolis of New York-New York has so many NY replicas that it's hard to remember whether you're actually in Las Vegas or have hopped on a plane to the Big Apple. Although many activities in Las Vegas are adult-themed there's no shortage of family-friendly fun to be had. Burn off excess energy with a few hours of watery play at Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas before letting them loose in the M&M's World Store which you'll find in Showcase Mall. This store is huge and the kids can even customize their own candy-coated chocolates. Older children will enjoy the adrenaline-pumping rides found at The STRAT Hotel, Casino and Skypod. One hundred stories above the ground are four of the world's highest rides, including the stomach-lurching Skyjump and gravity-defying Insanity.
