Cheap flights to Mumbai

Mumbai is a fast-paced, high octane city of superlatives. As India's economic powerhouse and historic gateway, it's a place where the past, present and future mingle in a dense metropolis with enough character and culture to engage even the most seasoned traveller. Easily India's most dynamic city, Mumbai is an assault on the senses. It's as though all the sights, smells and sounds of the sub-continent are right here on this peninsular. Constrained on three sides, Mumbai's cityscape is a dense patchwork of enormous variety, begging to be explored.

What started as a small fishing village grew exponentially under the British Raj, and the city lays claim to some of the region's most eye-catching colonial architecture. The magnificent Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus train station, a UNESCO world heritage site, is unmissable. At the southern tip of the peninsular is Mumbai's historic port and chief tourist hub: Colaba, equally spattered with beautiful buildings. The instantly recognizable Gateway of India monument a sight-seeing must.
Further north, the city opens up along Back Bay with Chowpatty Beach at its northernmost corner. While not well suited to sunbathing and swimming, this strip of sand is best known for its street food. The city's iconic bhel puri is a sweet and sour delight and this spot is famous for it. It's just one in a long list of Mumbai's world-renowned street-food spots. Grab a plate and while away the day staring up at the stylish high-rises along the water-front well known to host some of Bollywood's A-list megastars.

With food, history and culture aplenty, Mumbai is modern India incarnate: loud, proud and all-engrossing. Book your flight today and get lost in one of the world's pre-eminent global cities.
