Hawaiian Airlines: Hawaii Flies With Us

The country's largest airline, founded in 1929, Hawaiian Airlines employs more than 6,000 staff and flies to 28 destinations. When the airline was first established, its fleet consisted of one Bellanca CH-300 Pacemaker that was chartered to provide sight-seeing trips across the Oʽahu. By 1941, the airline had re-branded and become Hawaiian Airlines. By 1966, it had added a Douglas DC-9-10 aircraft to its fleet, ensuring that the majority of flight durations were halved. Due to intense pressure from competitor airlines, the company began extending its operations, added destinations to the Pacific, and added two Lockheed L-1011 to their growing fleet.

Today, the airline has grown exponentially from its humble beginnings and boasts a fleet size of more than 50 aircraft. Their fleet consists of 23 Airbus A330-200s, 20 Boeing 717-200s, Boeing 767-300ERs and a Boeing 767-300. Moreover, the airline's forward thinking and excellent service extend to its in-flight meals, all of which are free from additives and preservatives. The company ensures that all the packaging in which the meals are served is recyclable and environmentally friendly. The airline's commitment to providing outstanding customer care and exceptional service has been recognized many times. In fact, Hawaiian Airlines received the Best Airline Staff Award at the Skytrax World Airline Awards for outstanding service and excellence from its front-line staff, both in-flight and at the airport.

The airline flies to 9 gateways on the West Coast; Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.
