Things to do in Seoul

Seoul is an immense metropolis that is capable of satisfying just about every need a worthy tourist can think of. Whether you go here to party, to shop, or to be amazed by the visions on display, both ancient and modern, you will find it all here and easily accessible thanks to the great transport options available.

In need of the some retails therapy?

The capital is home to a myriad of retail options to satisfy even the most discerning of fashionistas. For those looking for the high street treatment, the Myeongdong shopping district is undoubtedly the place to go. Home to all the top retails brands such as Zara, Nike and UNIQLO, it also offers domestic Korean fashion as well.

If you are visiting the city, be aware that locations here may offer a discount for travellers who purchase over a certain cash amount, so be sure to bring your passport and ticket along and ask what's available. If you are looking for the true, blue Korean fashion experience, try the Dongdaemun district, the home of domestic Korean fashion. Here you can get true Korean style for bargain prices. You can also shop till you drop, literally! The stores here open at 9PM and don't close till dawn!

Who wants to party?

Make no mistake, the Capital is a city that knows how to have a good time. The university district of Hongdae is one of the areas where abandon takes hold and things get a little wild! Club FF offers a taste of this, with live bands and an eclectic music palette on offer each night of the week.

Looking for something a little more familiar? Suzie Q is a landmark in itself. An LP bar by nature, here you can ask for classic rock, jazz, blues and others, and then hear them all spun out by the DJ on original vinyl. Or maybe you'd like to finally find out what exactly Gangnam-style really is. Well then, you'd better start by heading down to the Gangnam district, home to the city's largest club, Ellui. We're not sure if you'll find the answer here but it's a great place to start! When you are sick of listening to other people's music, try making some for yourself! Korean karaoke bars are a staple of the city and a great place to mix with the locals in a fun and festive atmosphere.

For those who just want to eat!

The capital is home to a wide range of culinary delights and you can increase your chances of sampling them all by taking in a food tour. For a truly weird dining experience, try the Hello Kitty Café, featuring a live sheep and castle-shaped beer hall as standard (naturally). Of course, a trip to Korea's capital wouldn't be complete without trying the world famous Korean barbecue on offer in the city. The Mapo neighbourhood is a great option here, with many barbecue restaurants located along the riverside.
