Based out of Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan, EVA Air is a privately-owned Star Alliance member airline with a five star Skytrax rating. Passengers can save time and check into their EVA Air flights ahead of departure. Check-in for EVA Air flights is available online via their mobile or computer device, or at the airport's kiosks, where travelers can also use self-service baggage drop.
Check-in is possible between 48 and 1.5 hours before the flight departs, and passengers who have their boarding passes should arrive no later than 30 minutes before their flight. Those without boarding passes should arrive no later than 1 hour before their scheduled flight departure.
Royal Laurel/ Premium Laurel/ Business Class
There is a 40 kg/ 80 lbs of checked luggage allowance, and 2 pieces for Piece Concept destinations (US, Canada, and some South/ Central American countries) that are each no more than 32 kg/ 70 lbs. 2 carry-on luggage pieces are allowed, each weighing no more than 7 kg/ 15 lbs.
Premium Economy Class
There is a checked luggage allowance of 35 kg/ 77 lbs on Premium Economy, and two pieces for Piece Concept destinations (US, Canada, and some South/ Central American countries) which are each up to 28 kg/ 61 lbs. Passengers can have 1 piece of carry-on luggage that is no more than 7 kg/ 15 lbs.
There is 30 kg/ 66 lbs of checked luggage allowance, or 2 pieces for Piece Concept destinations (US, Canada, and some South/ Central American countries) that are each up to 23 kg/ 50 lbs. Passengers can also take 1 piece of carry-on luggage that weighs no more than 7 kg/ 15 lbs.
For each piece of checked luggage, the sum of dimensions must not exceed 158 cm/ 62 in. For carry-on luggage, the dimensions allowed are 56 x 23 x 36 cm/ 9 x 14 x 22 in, plus one personal item with dimensions of 40 x 10 x 30 cm/ 16 x 4 x 12 in.
There is an additional charge per kg/ lbs of excess luggage, or per piece in Piece Concept destinations (US, Canada, and some South/ Central American countries). Excess luggage can be purchased per kg/ lbs ahead of time on EVA Air's website. Oversized luggage such as sporting equipment or musical instruments may be considered within the luggage allowance, it is best to look at EVA Air's Excess Baggage website. EVA Air allows infants an additional 10 kg/ 22 lbs or 1 piece in Piece Concept destinations (US, Canada, and some South/ Central American countries). Infants are not entitled to a seat, and one must be purchased. 20 kg/ 44 lbs of extra luggage is allowed for Diamond, Gold, Silver and Star Alliance Gold and Silver members.
