Fly with Air Greenland

Air Greenland was founded in 1960 and is Greenland's flag carrier airline. Originally named Grønlandsfly, the airline operated domestic seaplane and helicopter flights, providing a vital lifeline to isolated communities. The company developed rapidly, replacing the seaplanes with jet planes especially designed to fly in the challenging conditions of Arctic airspace. International destinations were established in the 1980's with services to and from Iceland's capital, Reykjavik, and Copenhagen, Denmark. The airline changed its name to Air Greenland in 2002 to reflect its international status.

Today, the company continues to serve local communities with regular flights to all of Greenland's airports. The airline also plays a key role in Greenland's growing tourist industry, offering flightseeing tours with its 5-passenger helicopter as well as cheaper ticket options with their Takuss Return Tickets program.
