One of The Top German Airlines Condor Flugdienst
Condor Flugdienst was founded in 1961 and quickly became a top choice for leisure travel to sun and beach destinations. Towards the end of that decade, the German airline began to fly long haul with a selection of flights to the Caribbean and South East Asia. Condor then went through a major period of expansion in the 1990s and 2000s, when it signed multiple codeshare and interline agreements with nearly 20 airlines.
Condor Flugdienst now flies to more than 85 destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the American continent, and it has received awards in categories like quality of service, ticket prices and website 'user-friendliness'.
Flying with Condor Flugdienst
Seat classes with Condor include Economy, Premium and Business. Economy Class passengers who require extra legroom but don't want to upgrade to Premium can pay a small fee to book an XL Seat. In Premium Class, the middle seats are always unoccupied for additional privacy and comfort. Business Class tickets offer access to lie-flat seats and gourmet meals among other perks.
Fares are divided into Economy Light (no cancellation or re-booking allowed), Classic (which allows re-booking at an additional fee) and Flex (which allows multiple re-bookings for free and cancellations at a small fee). A detailed description of the Condor fare classes is available. Travellers can also register for the Condor Price Watch service to receive airfare alerts by email.
Condor's loyalty programmes are shared with Lufthansa and Alaska Airlines, meaning that travellers who are members of either programme can earn miles when flying with Condor.
Travellers can use online check-in to get their boarding passes in advance, either by printing them or storing them in a mobile device. This option is only available at certain departure airports. Airport check-in can be done using self-service machines or at the counter. Please note that check-in times vary from airport to airport.
- Condor's checked baggage allowance varies depending on the origin and destination zone, but generally speaking, Economy passengers can check one piece of baggage up to 20 kg / 44 lb for free, whereas the allowance for Premium Class passengers is 25 kg / 55 lb. Business Class ticket holders can check up to 2 bags of 32 kg / 70 lb each, subject to zone restrictions. Detailed information can be found here [https://www.condor.com/eu/flight-preparation/baggage-and-animals/free-baggage-allowance.jsp].
- The hand baggage allowance varies depending on ticket class. Only one piece of carry on per passenger is allowed, except in Business Class, where two pieces can be taken on board as long as they do not exceed the upper weight limits.
