Online check in opens 30 hours before the scheduled departure time and closes one hour before departure. Check-in counters open at Abu Dhabi four hours before your flight and three hours before at other airports. Check-in closes one hour prior to departure for economy passengers and 45 minutes for business and first class.
Passengers checking in online can simply drop their checked luggage at the drop and go counter. Baggage allowances vary according to ticket class and membership status. Save money and time by booking extra and oversized baggage online in advance.
Oversized and extra baggage can be booked for a fee. Musical instruments and sports equipment may be checked as part of your standard baggage allowance, with a special extra baggage allowance offered free for golf bags. Wheelchairs and other special assistance items are checked for free.
Etihad makes traveling with infants easy with an extra checked bag (10 or 23 kg depending on route) and carry-on bag (5 kg) allowance, plus collapsible strollers may be carried into the cabin, space permitting, or checked in. Baby bassinets are available if booked in advance and children under two sitting on an adult’s lap are not charged a seat fare.
