Since its beginnings in 1948 Tunisair has steadily expanded its network and its fleet. Tunisair was one of the first airlines to operate Airbus aircrafts and has since built a large fleet of them, and recently became one of the first in general, and the first in Africa, to order and operate the Airbus 319 Extended-Range. Additionally they use Boeing 737s, including the next generation Boeing 737-600. Tunisair is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization. The airline employs 11 Tunisian female pilots.
