Launched in 2020, STARLUX Airlines is the newest Taiwanese luxurious airline based in Taipei, Taiwan providing flight services between their hub, Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to popular destinations in Asia and now to the west coast of the United States: non-stop flight service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Taipei (TPE).

STARLUX Airlines Travel Experience

For long-haul routes, such as flight services from LAX to Taipei, STARLUX Airlines operates the Airbus A350-900*, consisting of 4 cabin classes: First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. *Cabin class availabilities differ per route.

First Class

STARLUX First Class offers a private cabin experience with its 60" wall-in door and offers a personal locker for the passengers to store their carry-on bags, coats, and jackets in front of the seats. Additionally, there is a minibar so that travelers can have drinks whenever they want, making the journey as comfortable as being at home. In addition, the expanded first-class seats are completely reclinable and include a Zero Gravity mode, which is intended to relax the entire body, decrease blood pressure, and alleviate fatigue from lengthy flights. They also have an air massager with three degrees of intensity. Passengers may enjoy excellent entertainment (movies, TV shows, music, and games) thanks to a 32-inch high-definition personal screen, touch-sensitive remote control, and noise-cancelling headphones. Passengers are able to continuously stay connected during the trip thanks to the free on-board Wi-Fi. First Class passengers have access to the STARLUX VIP lounge, priority boarding and priority baggage claim.

Business Class

STARLUX Business Class also provides a private cabin experience with its 48.5" wall with door as well as a seat pitch of 44"/45". The airline cooperates with Michelin starred Chef Lam Ming Kin to create their business class menus, which includes both international and Asian cuisines. Every seat offers an excellent 4K resolution IFE 24-inch screen providing a wide variety of in-flight entertainment (movies, TV shows, music, and games) for the passenger, as well as noise-cancelling headphones and free Wi-Fi. Business Class passengers have access to the STARLUX VIP lounge, priority boarding and priority baggage claim.

Premium Economy Class

Passengers traveling in Premium Economy Class are treated to generous legroom with a seat pitch of 40 inches. Passengers can enjoy in-flight entertainment with excellent 4K resolution on their 15.6-inch personal screen with a touch-sensitive remote control. Passengers are able to continuously stay connected during the trip thanks to the free on-board Wi-Fi.

Economy Class

The Economy Class cabin is arranged in a 3-3-3 seating configuration with a seat pitch of 31"/32". A fine selection of meals are available to passengers in Economy Class; however, pre-order in-dining options are also available through the "Manage My Trip" on STARLUX's website or App up to 24 hours prior to flight departure. Economy Class seats are also equipped with inflight entertainment screens with 4K resolution. Travelers also have access to Wi-Fi connectivity. Complimentary amenities like eyeshades, earplugs, slippers and dental kits are all also available onboard.

STARLUX Airlines Check-in

Online check-in is available for passengers through the STARLUX Airlines app or the main website. Online check-in is available 48 hours to 2 hours before departure. Please arrive at the airport an hour before departure if you have luggage to check-in. Check-in ticket counters at the airport open 3.5 hours before departure and close 1 hour before departure.

  • The number of luggage you can check in may vary based on your destination and fare. The maximum number of luggage permitted on oneself (per person) for Premium Economy/Economy class is 2 (For example, one hand-carry (x1) and personal item (x1), such as coat or jacket, laptop bag, purse, etc) and for First/Business is 3 (hand-carry baggage (x2) and personal item (x1).

  • Yes and it's called COSMILE! There are a total of 4 tiers: Traveler, Adventurer, Explorer, Insighter. Anyone aged 2 or above can enroll as a "Traveler" and can start earning mileage to redeem for additional benefits and privileges.

➡️ How can an unaccompanied minor fly with STARLUX Airlines?

  • Children age 2 to 12 years old need to be accompanied by parents or a legal guardian in the same cabin. Unaccompanied minor service must be requested if a child traveling alone has turned 5 but is under 12 years old.

➡️ Can I travel with pets onboard?

  • Unfortunately, no. The airline accepts only service animals (dogs over the age of 4 months) in the passenger cabin* (*Proper documents must be available for support and if permitted by local regulations of the destinations.) However, other pets can travel as checked luggage, following the animal and kennel are under carriage regulations, necessary paperwork are provided, and fees are paid.
