Lufthansa

Lufthansa Airlines (LH) is the flag carrier of Germany. It is the largest airline in Europe in terms of passengers carried and fleet size. Established in 1953, Lufthansa today offers flights to nearly 18 domestic and 197 international destinations in 78 countries across Africa, America, Asia and Europe. Its main hub is the Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and it operates a secondary hub at Munich Airport (MUC). Lufthansa has the most nonstop flights between Singapore and Frankfurt and the most one stop flights to Dusseldorf.

Fleet

With over 620 aircraft, it has one of the largest passenger airline fleets in the world when combined with its subsidiaries. Lufthansa’s fleet of 286 aircraft comprising of Airbus and Boeing with an average age of 12.4 years

Travel Class

In a three class configuration – First Class, Business Class and Economy Class, Lufthansa offer unmatched comforts and luxury on-board. All the three classes are offered on all long-haul aircraft. First and Business Class is equipped with fully flat seats, larger seat-back entertainment screen etc. Audio-Video-On-Demand is available in Economy Class Cabins. Visitors can choose from a variety of entertainment programs ranging from current movies, audio, books or a variety of music. ‘Flint’, the on-board internet system provides easy working and phone calls onboard. “Magazin”, its in-flight magazine, offers feature rich content for pleasurable reading.

Frequent Flyer Program

“Miles and More”, the airline’s frequent flyer program offer a host of privileges to members including dedicated reservation lines, additional baggage allowance and priority handling. Members may earn miles on Lufthansa flights and Star Alliance partner flights, as well as through Lufthansa credit cards, and purchases made through the Lufthansa shops.

Baggage

As baggage allowance, First and Business Class passengers may take two pieces of hand luggage of 32kg each. Economy Class passengers are only permitted one piece of hand luggage with maximum weight 23kg .

Alliance

Lufthansa is a founding member of Star Alliance.

Awards

In the World Airline Awards 2013, Lufthansa was named the ‘Best Western European Airline’ and the ‘Best Transatlantic Airline’.
